Used together the Straight Stitch foot (SA564C) and the Straight Stitch Needle Plate help prevent puckering of fabrics as well as fabrics being pulled down into the feed dogs of your machine.  There is a small hole, only large enough for the sewing machine needle, to pass through both the foot and needle plate. NOTE: can only be used for straight stitch applications and when the needle is in center needle position.
